(Web and Film Festival) & FilmFestivals.com:
present :
the best Festival Web Site Trophy
on November 16, 2002 in Le Touquet - France.
Each year, approximately 600 web sites dedicated to
full-length films are launched in France: this abundance of creativity
deserved to be widely known, shared and celebrated by a festival.
The W@F is the first festival of the best Internet sites dedicated to
motion pictures.
Created on the initiative of two passionate persons : Claude-Hélène
KLEINSINGER and Sophie GOLDSZTEJN, its vocation is to subsidise the best
web realisations for the cinema.
The Internet users will determine the Official Selection of 30 web sites
via the www.waf-festival.com site. The final selection amongst nominees
will be made by a jury composed of journalists (Ruth ELKRIEF-RTL, Sophie
BENAMON-STUDIO) and of web and cinema officials (Oriane GARCIA-Lycos and
Multimania, James HUTH-director of the "Yellow Mark", and Axel
BRÜCKER-International Festival of the Strip Announce, Ciné
Info TV). The festival jury will award a "Grand Prix" to the
site of year 2002 and four specialised trophies for the following categories
: navigation, sound, added value, graphics/animation.

Meeting of the web and cinema professionals, to review the market
and its tendencies.
This three-day meeting will also bring together distributors, agencies,
creatives, and cinema schools.
Meetings and discussions will be organised with the aim to do an
update on the web production for the cinema and to determine the
current trends of the business and possible developments towards
all web sites aimed at the general public.

FilmFestivals, decided to participate this year in the selection of the
best sites of festivals.
Bruno Chatelin comments: W@F will be a showcase for film website, distributors
devote a lot of energy in their web strategy. We, at Filmfestivals, have
experienced that festival organisers have not fully embraced the new avenues
to communicate on the web, get awareness, audience, legitimacy and sponsors.
Hence our decision to recommend a festival section in this new festival.
This list, established by Bruno CHATELIN, will be submitted to the Internet
surfers of Lycos who will select the winner. The Trophy will be handed
during the Gala reception of the W@F, on November 16, 2002 at "Le
Palais de l'Europe" in Le Touquet.
The selected festivals will be invited to meet with the general public
at the FilmFestivals' exhibition space.
The W@F is the first international festival of the best Internet sites
of full-length films, which will take place on November 15, 16 and 17,
2002 in Le Touquet - France. With a global budget of over 460 000 Euros
for its first edition, the W@F has received full support from the city
of
Le Touquet, the Nord-Pas-de-Calais regional council, the CNC, and from
renowned media, such as Studio Magazine and NRJ.fr (a radio web site).
