FILMFESTIVALS.COM APPOINTS
PATRICK DE BOKAY TO HEAD NEW LOS ANGELES OFFICE
LOS ANGELES, March 12, 2001 - Filmfestivals.com, the leading online
server for film festivals around the world, has appointed experienced
industry executive Patrick de Bokay as Vice-President, Worldwide
Sales & Marketing, and to head up the company's new Los Angeles
office, it is announced by company President, Malo Girod de l'Ain
and COO Bruno Chatelin.
De Bokay has more than ten years experience in the film industry,
first as Director of Marketing for Twentieth Century Fox Theatrical
in Paris and subsequently as Vice-President, International Marketing,
for Turner Pictures Worldwide Distribution based in Los Angeles.
Prior to that, he worked for some ten years in European international
marketing and advertising with the Ted Bates Advertising Group based
both in Paris and New York.
De Bokay received his MBA equivalent in marketing and international
business from the University of Paris IX Dauphine.
For the past three years, de Bokay has been operating his own
worldwide sales and marketing consultancy, Golya Entertainment,
in Los Angeles and Paris.
Stated Malo Girod de l'Ain: "The time is right for us to
open our operations in Los Angeles and we are fortunate to have
someone with Patrick's experience and knowledge of the industry
available to join us. He will play a leading role as we step up
our sales and marketing activities worldwide."
De Bokay stated: "I have been following the progress made

Bruno Chatelin, who was formerly Managing Director of UGC/Fox
Distribution in Paris, added: "I have known Patrick since his
days at UGC/Fox and his capabilities will be an exact fit for the
sales and marketing job we need to be done. He has the right contacts
in Los Angeles and is the person to move our Hollywood office forward.
Patrick will expand our partnerships with rights holders, Studios
and Independants.""
Filmfestivals.com, which recently launched the online world premieres
of six feature-length films for broadband users, is headquartered
in Paris with offices also in the U.K., Italy and the USA. The company
was founded by Malo Girod de l'Ain, president, in 1995 when it created
the first website for the Cannes International Film Festival. The
site now lists more than 1,000 film festivals worldwide, and has
extensive online tools to help festival organizers, filmmakers,
producers, distributors in such areas as marketing, film registration,
web presence and ticket sales. FilmfestivalsTV was launched at last
year's Berlin Film Festival with video coverage of major festivals.
FilmfestivalsTV produces a monthly television show, Non Stop Film
Festivals, for worldwide syndication.
The latest show, in January, covers the Palm Springs, Sundance and
Rotterdam festivals.
