French Media Company Selects Genesis Technology Group to Distribute SMS Entertainment Content to Chinese Markets

Internet's leading entertainment portal targets Chinese SMS users; Genesis China Roundtable in Paris scheduled for March 26th.

BOCA RATON, FL, January 6, 2004 (INTERNET WIRE via COMTEX) -- Genesis Technology Group, Inc. (OTCBB: GTEC) announced today the signing of a contract with FilmFestivals Entertainment Group (FFEG), a French corporation with headquarters in Paris. Genesis will forge strategic alliances for FFEG in China to remarket its licensed entertainment content. Contractually, Genesis can earn revenues based on a per-message basis, as the Chinese annually transmit text messages numbering in the tens of billions.

Malo Girod de l’Ain, FilmFestivals’ CEO, commented from Paris: “FFEG hosts the number one portal site for international film festivals and film news. Our mission is to be the premiere online entertainment destination dedicated to showcasing film festivals around the world and fostering new film and filmmaking talent. We have determined that China must be the next great frontier for such content. We have been told that 70 percent of its population is under the age of 30 years, our target audience. Genesis has been chosen as our liaison to this seemingly boundless market.” FFEG was founded in 1995 by Mr. Girod de l'Ain, who created the first official website for Cannes International Film Festival and went on to develop the Internet's leading website for film festivals

Bruno Chatelin, FFEG Chief Operating Officer, added: “We are proud of this alliance with Genesis. Since 2002, we have established strong partnerships with many media sources that build a strong circuit: Cannes Film Festival, Los Angeles Film Festival, IFP Market in New York, Newport Beach, Karlovy Vary, Paris, Venice, MIFED and many others. We have concluded that Genesis is uniquely qualified to market our extraordinary content in China.” Mr. Chatelin was responsible for the launch of over 250 films during his tenure as Marketing Director and Managing Director for Columbia TriStar Films and Twentieth Century Fox. In 1995, he built the joint venture between French major UGC and Fox and led it to the leading position in the French market.

Gary L. Wolfson, Genesis CEO, summarized: “Latest figures released by China's Ministry of Information Industry show China has the world's largest mobile phone ownership with over 255 million users that send over 400 million text messages every day. In 2003, China's mobile phone users transmitted over 100 billion text messages, increasing 100-fold since the year 2000.

“Since Genesis obtained its own SMS license in November, we have actively sought content providers. Interestingly, the FFEG contract is a direct result of our April 2003 roundtables in California where 48 companies attended. At that venue, FFEG’s U.S. representative attended. This is illustrative of the fact that cultivating business for China takes patience and tenacity. Having hosted a successful Munich event last spring, we are planning a China Roundtable in Paris on March 26th at the InterContinental Hotel located at 3 Rue de Castiglione.

“Our expansive network has established critical relationships with China Telecom and China Mobile Communications Group; these are the largest communications companies in the world. Now we are gearing up for a media blitz in China for FFEG for the Chinese New Year on January 22nd. A year ago, it was reported that the Chinese sent over six billion text messages on that single day.”
