"A strong Web trend: movies connect to the Web. Industry experts
bring the cinema experience to a web industry that needs content
and speed. Convergence, broadband, quality content, web cinema appeal,
those are the key issues that if well recognized will give new players
an important role. "
Malo Girod de l'Ain chairman and CEO FilmFestivals.com.
Bruno Chatelin has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of FilmFestivals.com
in charge of marketing and sales. Filmfestivals.com was founded
in 1995 by Malo Girod de l'Ain, chairman and CEO.
After spending 9 years as an account director in large ad agencies
such as DDB J.WALTER THOMSON or D'ARCY MAC &MASIUS, Bruno Chatelin
joined Columbia TriStar Films in 1987. He was the marketing and
communications director, in charge of the release of more than 150
films (T2, Philadelphia, The Adams Family
)

joint theatrical distribution arm for both majors (UGC and FOX).
Only 2 years after being created, the 40 person team became the
3rd distributor on the market, bringing Fox a record year in 1997
with the release of Independence Day, marking an opening day admissions
record for Paris.
In 1998 he became the co-manager of Solo Connexions, organizing
the first trade fair for independent professionals in france, and
created a portal site for small business owners.
FilmFestivals.com is the number one international site for movie
insiders with close to 10 million hits per month.
The company is currently preparing the opening of branches in Los
Angeles, New York and London
Bruno Chatelin declares:
I feel extremely confident about the potential expansion of Malo
and FilmFestivals.com's project. The B2B2C model will enable us
to reach a leading unique position in the release and discovery
of first quality movies on the web. Our first investors - among
them Cable and Wireless - obviously shared this feeling. The image
of the company is well established in the U.S.A. and among festival
organizers. My team will endeavor to improve the services already
offered, as well as offer the means to promote films for producers
and distributors. I will do my best to develop both marketing opportunities
and build stronger relationships with international industry people.
We will be spending a busy summer preparing a new, entirely dynamic
version of the professional site and the opening of a separate site
geared to the general public and movie buffs.
I am very excited to be able to match my passions for entertainment
with the web and to contribute to such an ambitious project.
