The
European Film Awards
December 2 at the Palais Chaillot in Paris
It
was Cannes deja vu at the Paris awards ceremony, with the Best Film
prize once again going to Lars von Trier for Dancer in the Dark,
and the Best Actress prize once again going to Bjork (who starred
in the film). Both winners missed the festival, as did Roberto Benigni,
who was a mysterious no-show despite earlier announcements that
he would receive an Achievement Award. Besides these conspicuous
absences, the other winners made the trek to Paris.
