"It's about people meeting up and how their stories ram into each other," says actress Connie Nielsen about her latest film Dark Summer. Filmed in Saskatchewan, where, according to Nielsen, "we froze our asses off," the picture tells the story of a French musician travelling in America who meets two sisters whose serene facades ultimately give way to something a bit more tumultuous. Mielsen dropped into Cannes from Malta, where she is filming Ridley Scott's $120 million Gladiator. Dark Summer is being sold by one of the pic's exec producers, Marie Hay Films. |
