2005 Roma Independent Film Festival
July 29 - 31, 2005

After the success of the fourth edition, which was particularly appreciated by the critics and by the audience because of the accurate selection of the competing works, the Festival -with the support of the Directorate for Cultural Policies of the City of Rome and with the contribution of the Ministry for Cultural Activities (DGC) and of the Lazio Region- is becoming an important appointment for independent cinema, on a national and international level.

This year too, the festival undertakes to develop collaboration networks with the main production and distribution companies. A great chance for independent filmmakers to present their original works to the Italian audience as an absolute premiere. Over 65 works will be selected for the competition (in the 2005 edition, the festival received over 1000 works from 50 countries).

The programme will be enriched with retrospective events and seminars concerning various aspects of the world of cinema. In the four previous editions, special prizes have been granted to Harvey Keitel, Pete Travis, Valeria Golino, Gabriele Muccino and Paolo Sorrentino.
