City of New Orleans Announces Second Annual Media Experience

The second annual New Orleans Media Experience “NOME 2004” is underway. The first of its’ kind convergence festival will take place this year October 26-October 31 in the historic French Quarter, with a blend of films, music videos, commercials and videogames.

Summit 2004, held at the Festival Headquarters Hotel Monteleone, will be 3 days of intensive cross industry panels with heavyweights from all four fields. Last year of the 60 biggest entertainment executives who participated were Neal Moritz, Film Producer of The Fast and The Furious, XXX, Sweet Home Alabama; J Allard, VP Microsoft X Box and a member of Hollywood Reporter’s”30 under 30”; Noah Robischon, Sr. Writer Entertainment Weekly; Mike Caren, SR VP A&R Atlantic Records and Hollywood Reporter’s “30 under 30”; Allison Anders, filmmaker of Gas, Food and Lodging. Mi Vida Loca and Grace of My Heart; Scott Ross, Founder and CEO Digital Domain; Ken Yagoda Executive VP Young and Rubicam; Little X, music video and commercial director, etc. The Innovators Series will be part of this 3 day intensive, focusing on the most outstanding in their fields such as Videogame Development, Music Video and Commercial Direction, Feature Film Direction, and New Technology .

Woldenberg Park on the Mississippi River will be the setting for the videogame portion of NOME, commencing with “Last Gamer Standing”, a major outdoor tournament with special celebrity appearances, national musical talent and cash prizes. October 29-31 the open videogame tents will have all that is new and many games not on the market yet, as well as some special videogame world premieres.

Daily there will be music video and commercial screenings, including The Best of the AICP and MVPA, as well as films,including The Best of Triggerstreet.com and Ifilm. In addition, being Halloween Week there will be special nightly Horror Films.

Of course there will be parties nightly celebrating each medium within the festival, ending with a fantastic Halloween Masked Ball, which last year featured International Queen of Burlesque, Dita Von Teese.

CALL FOR ENTRIES

NOME2004 is now accepting submissions for this year's festival. Submit as many works as you like, but please read the guidelines for submissions here before beginning.

NOME2004 accepts submissions via our secure, online submission module and also by mail. All information related to submission is secure and will not be shared with any other festivals, companies or third party organizations. Submissions selected to be screened at this year's event will be notified by September. Mailed entries must be postmarked no later than the deadline date listed below to be eligible.
After filling out the online submission form, you will receive an email at the email address you provide during the signup process. This email will contain information about how and where to send your materials for consideration.
