The
dates for next year's Berlinale are expected to be 14-25
February 2001, according to festival head Moritz de
Hadeln. This, however, will overlap with the planned
dates of the AFM, which feels it has to move because
of a clash with ShoWest. The MPAA and FIAPF have been
made aware of the situation and a meeting with all AFMA
members has been organised for 1 March in Santa Monica,
with this topic on the agenda.
According
to EFM head Beki Probst, almost 300 key participants
in the European Film Market continue their selling and
buying sprees in LA. For the past couple of years she
has worked with the AFM to ship films unspooling at
both markets from Berlin to the US, with 60 prints going
on this time.
