    the prize of the European Academy of Film and Television, donated by the AGICOA with DM 50,000, to the director Jeroen Krabbé for his film "LEFT LUGGAGE" 
 

Alfred Bauer Prize 

    awarded in honour of the founder of the Berlin International Film Festival to a film which opens new horizons in filmmaking, goes to "YUE KUAI LE, YUE DUO LUO" Hold You Tight by Stanley Kwan 

A special Mention for the promising performances 

    actress Isabella Rossellini for her exceptional performance as "Mrs. Kalman" in the film "LEFT LUGGAGE" by Jeroen Krabbé and 
    actor Eamonn Owens for his astonishing work as the young lead in Neil Jordan’s "THE BUTCHER BOY" 

A special Mention 

    for the cinematographer Slawomir Idziak for the haunting images of Michael Winterbottom’s "I WANT YOU".
